Adam Lawrenson - Architectural Photographer, Commercial Photographer, Fashion Photography

Architectural photography in Newcastle upon Tyne the UK and Europe, as well as commercial work throughout these regions is undertaken by Adam Lawrenson. Architecture and architectural photography is an area in which Adam enjoys to work, both in the urban and the rural environments. Fashion photography is also shot in Newcastle by Adam in areas such as bridal boutiques, hair salons, retail and jewellry.

Working predominantly in the UK from his Newcastle upon Tyne base, Adam ensures his photography is well organised, managed and executed to consider weather conditions, lighting conditions and deadlines to briefs.

Architectural photography is considered and planned to achieve the best results and desired style. Past experiences in this field include photographing large and small office areas, educational buildings, health and medical buildings, health and fitness centres / clubs, industrial buildings and residential property.

Architectural interiors and exteriors as well as photography of architectural details are shot using the Sony Alpha camera system to 25MP. 360º Images are shot with the Nikon System.

Commercial photography requires a range of lighting from soft fill lighting to strong directional lighting (using snoots, honeycombs and dishes). Commercial shoots can be on location or studio based. Examples of work include industrial locations, traffic and safety systems, working portraits, leisure facilities, food and commercial portraits.

Fashion photography can be shot in studio condition with sets or on locations managed and arranged by Lightwave Studios. Adam has produced work for a range of fashion sectors including retail, advertising and events.

Illustrative photography is an area in which Adam works within on personal projects. Newcastle upon Tyne has been an inspiration to much of his work with inspiration from buildings and structures such as The Tyne Bridge, Millennium Bridge, Sage Music Centre, The Angel of The North and the recently developed areas of The Gateshead / Newcastle Quaysides. Northumberland and its Architecture and Landscapes is also an area of outstanding beauty and history which visually inspires photographic work.

Recently Adam has shot work in Rome, Brussels, Hamburg, London and Edinburgh at dusk. The final light of day and the mood the which the natural light merging into the artificial light creates, inspires Adam's photography greatly.

Adam has worked within the professional photography industry for twelve years. Working with film cameras and digital cameras throughout his life and shooting on a variety of formats from 35-mm film to 5x4 film and more recently from 6mp cameras to 31mp cameras.

Adam believes that the use of light and the ability to control light to create photographic images is important for good photography. However this process of controlling the light has changed for Adam in recent years. Post production techniques in the computer have replaced some techniques on location and replaced the darkroom entirely, but the light and the control of that light it is still what Adam believes creates a good image.
